Burma Student Power
The story, which was shot using DV cameras and pin hole 'Spy' cameras, focused on the student democracy demonstrations from 1988 when 3000 unarmed students were killed in the streets of Rangoon. The students responsible fled to the safety of the jungles on the Thai border and set up the ABSDF the All Burmese Student Democratic Front. We entered Burma s tourists and filmed the underground movement fighting the SLORC (State Law are Restoration Council) we then crossed the Thai border back into Burma and gained unique access to the ABSDF jungle camps. We also covered the connections the students have with Suu Kyi's NLD National League of Democracy Party.
